Molybdenum and Chromium Molybdenum Heat Resistant Steel Welding Electrode
R717
AWS A5.5 E9015-B9
Description: R717 is a heat-resistant steel electrode with a low-hydrogen sodium coating containing 9% Cr – 1% Mo-V-Nb. Use DCEP (direct current electrode positive) and can welded in all positions. Due to the addition of a small amount of Nb and V, the deposited metal has excellent high temperature creep resistance.
Application: It is used for welding superheated tubes and heads of high-temperature and high-pressure boilers, such as A213-T91/A335-P1 (T/P91), A387Cr, 91 and other heat-resistant steel structures.

Notice:
1. The electrode must be baked for 1 hour at 350℃ before welding operation;
2. It is essential to clean up rusty, oil scale, water, and impurities on welding parts before welding.
3. Preheat the weld part at 200 ~ 260°C before welding, and maintain the corresponding interpass temperature;
4. Slowly cool to 80 ~ 100°C for 2 hours after welding; if heat treatment cannot be done as soon as possible, dehydrogenation treatment can be performed at 350°C X 2h.
